ARRIVAL Berlin - BY PLANE
Berlin's international airports Tegel (TXL) and Schönefeld (SXF) are well serviced by public transport. Regular fares apply (Tegel 2.70€ | Schönefeld 3.30€)| no surcharge for airport express buses.
Taxiscabs charge 20– 50€ into town.

ARRIVAL Berlin - BY TRAIN
Berlin has several train stations with Hauptbahnhof (Berlin Central Station) and Südkreuz being closest to ZIB.

ARRIVAL Berlin - BY CAR
Parking around campus and ZIB is free of charge. Hotels may charge a parking fee, please inquire directly with the venue.

MOVING IN BERLIN
Berlin is served by a extensive public transit network (underground, urban rail, buses and trams) that is safe to travel even after hours. The system has 3 tariff zones.
Ticket AB (2.70€) will get you anywhere in Berlin including Tegel Airport.
Ticket ABC (3.30€) is required when traveling to and from Schönefeld Airport.

Important - International Travelers

Ticket vending machines do NOT accept credit cards like VISA, MasterCard, American Express. They only take German debit cards, coins and banknotes up to 20€. Bus and tram drivers will accept notes up to 20€. Carrying some small change is recommended.
Credit card payment is possible at BVG service points in stations and airports. Visa and MasterCard holder can purchase mobile tickets via free Android/iOS app

Buying tickets individually can be a hassle. A good alternative are:

4-Trip-Ticket (9€ for a set of 4 regular tickets).
Day Ticket (6.90€ valid until 3 am the following day).
